Global mobility and financial accounting were ‘top of mind’ at Equatex’s booth at the NASPP Conference

The 24th annual NASPP Conference and Exhibition, which took place in Texas last week, gave Equatex the opportunity to meet new and existing clients, and discuss key challenges and opportunities with them.

Global Sales and Marketing Director, Mitan Patel, hosted a discussion on global stock plan administration at the Conference’s ‘Luncheon Roundtable’ event. Attendees were particularly interested in the topics of global mobility and the Accounting Standards, which impact the accounting for employee stock-based compensation.

“Our roundtable group really got down to specifics, discussing the impact on individual and corporate taxes based on movement from country to country as well as IFRS and US GAAP reporting needs,” explains Mitan. “Overall, this is an area where our platform EquatePlus offers real value to our clients through functionality and reporting regardless of where an organisation’s employees are located or the exchange where their equity is traded.”

Meanwhile, Director of Business Development US, Chris Dohrmann, took part in an ‘Ask the Experts’ session at the Conference, answering questions on mobility and financial accounting and reporting. The session proved to be very popular as attendees engaged with EquatePlus’s new next-generation user experience.

“I look forward to NASPP to catch-up on the latest industry news and it is always a great opportunity to see old friends and colleagues,” says Chris. “I was able to share our new participant website this year with a number of clients and prospects and the response was terrific.”

This year, Equatex was also fundraising for the Pets for Vets Houston Chapter, a national organisation that matches professionally trained shelter/rescue dogs with veterans suffering from post-combat conditions. Equatex asked attendees to drop off their business cards at the booth to increase the donation to the charity. Jan Potts, the Houston Pets for Vets Chapter President, even stopped by the event for a visit.

“The response to the Pets for Vets fundraising effort was tremendous – we collected a huge number of business cards,” adds Equatex US Business Development Manager, Julia Tensfeldt. “We even had some attendees bring us the postcard we sent out in advance of the conference – they were specifically looking for our booth to help with this effort.”

NASPP announced that its 25th anniversary conference will be held next year from 17–20 October in Washington DC at the hotel where its very first conference was held, the Washington Hilton Hotel. After the success of the 2016 event, the US team is looking forward to participating in the anniversary celebrations next year.
