04 Aug Equatex UK Limited obtains FCA broker dealer licence
London / Zurich | 4 August 2016
Equatex UK Limited, the UK entity of global compensation plan administrator Equatex Group, has successfully completed its application for a broker dealer licence with the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). The authorisation marks another important step in the development of Equatex’s international presence and paves the way for the company’s future operational setup in the vital UK market.
Equatex UK Limited applied for a UK broker dealer licence following Equatex Group’s launch as a standalone company in February 2015. The licence was issued by the FCA on 27 July 2016 and authorises the company to act as a broker dealer in the UK market and provide a fully integrated share plan solution to its corporate clients in the UK and their employees across the globe.
Equatex Group CEO Andrej Golob said: “We are excited to further develop our presence and service offering in the UK. With share incentive plans being wide-spread and firmly established across all industries, the UK market builds a cornerstone of our global growth strategy.”
Equatex UK Managing Director Veronique Japp said: “The FCA licence forms the basis of our future business operations in the UK. Together with our proven solutions, technology and recent investment in user experience, we will drive innovation in the UK share scheme and executive remuneration industry.”
The UK broker dealer registration is the third regulatory authorisation that the Equatex Group has applied for and obtained in order to build up and expand its global business. The group’s Swiss entity, Equatex AG, previously received its securities dealer licence from the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FINMA). Its US entity, Equatex US Inc., previously obtained a broker dealer registration with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and membership with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).
