One year and counting

As Equatex celebrates its first birthday, we look forward to what the next 12 months will bring

It is one year since Equatex, formerly part of Swiss bank UBS, launched under its own brand and new ownership. It has been an exciting journey so far for the business. Last year the company launched a new app that allows participants to access their compensation plans on the go; welcomed new clients and built new global partnerships; held their inaugural conference for clients in Malta; and established a new programme to foster innovation internally and externally.

Equatex’s CEO Andrej Golob would like to thank everyone for their support during the first year of business: “After a momentous year, we wish to thank our valued clients for their support and the continued trust that they place in us, which is the foundation of all our success. We would also like to thank our employees for their high degree of commitment that led to the development and creation of a number of innovative, new products. Last but certainly not least, we would like to thank all our business partners for supporting us with their expertise and for their constructive collaboration over the past few months.”

Not one to rest on its laurels, Equatex is now looking forward to what the next year will bring. Andrej shares five priorities the business hopes to achieve over the coming 12 months.

1. Build a next-generation equity experience

Equatex has partnered with international design and strategy firm, frog, as part of a CHF2 million multi-channel user experience project. The ‘futures’ programme will focus on building the plan participants’ experience of tomorrow. An early part of this programme will involve reimagining web-based interactions and online participant user journeys. Find out more here.

2. Continue to grow our markets

Equatex will focus on growing our key markets in Switzerland, Benelux, Germany, the UK, France, the Nordic countries, the US and Singapore. We are looking forward to building relationships with our clients around the world.

3. Participate in wealth of industry events

Last year, Equatex supported the Global Equity Organization Pan-European Regional Event and the German Equity Day “Tag der Teilhabe”, both held in Berlin. This year, we plan to participate in and sponsor a wealth of events across the world in order to help drive the topic of employee equity participation and share ownership.

4. Develop EquateMobile even more

As CTO Adrian Wyss says, product development never stops. With that in mind, we have lots of exciting future developments planned for EquateMobile; upcoming releases will include features such as authentication via Touch ID, plan participant notifications as well as the ability to enter transactions (for example, share trading and option exercises).

5. Reflect on our industry

In 2015, we launched the Reflect magazine and blog to share thought leadership from experts in the compensation plan industry and beyond. This year, we aim to launch three new issues of the magazine as well as give presentations and participate in panel discussions at industry events. We are committed to helping the compensation plan industry to evolve and providing our clients and business partners with the latest insights.
